Choir program Summer 2010
The choir this year will be directed for the first part by Jennifer Riley who directs the Cantiamo Singers, an auditioned choir of young singers. Link to Cantiamo Singers website.
John van Deursen, the classical prgram director will take over from Jennifer for the last few rehearsals
The program will consist of "Fancies" which is a series of songs set to Elizabethen poetry by John Rutter. Also a few Hebrew songs Link to where you can hear some of these songsSingers will meet twice a week at Mark Isfeld School from 7.30 – 9.30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning on June 15th.
The cost will be $60 and $50 for CYMC members. You can become a member of CYMC any time. Adult membership is $20 per year, Family $40 and students pay $10.
To register you can download a registration form here and either fax it to the office at 250-703-2251, or bring or mail it to the office. The office is open weekdays from 9–5. (See contact page for details). You can also register at the first rehearsal. If you wish to do this, please come early
Please bring a cheque for $25 or cash with you. This is a deposit for music and will be returned when the music is returned
The final concert with orchestra and conducted by John van Deursen will be on Saturday July 17th at Mark Isfeld Schoold at 7.30pm
Eligibility
The Festival Chorus is non-auditioned. To read music is an advantage but not a requirement and some experience is beneficial but is not mandatory. Don’t assume for a moment that this suggests a less challenging program.
